Learn How To Save Water By Doubling Or Tripling The Use Of Water Before Disposal
How do you save water? How about using re-using water 2 or 3 times before disposal? Here is how. Essentially you reuse and recycle your water once or twice before disposal. For the second and third usage, use the water for purpose which does not need clean water. Here are some tips on how to save water: and save some money in the process as well
-
Use two basins for washing dishes. The first basin is for rinsing before washing with detergent and the first rinse thereafter. Rinse the dishes before soaping to get rid of the solid waste. Rinse the dishes by splashing water on the dishes outside of the basin to avoid getting the water dirty too quickly. The first rinse after soaping will remove most of the detergent. Wash in the second basin to remove the rest of the detergent. Rinse off the tap for a squeaky clean dish. Remove to collect the water from the final rinse in the first or second basin. Using this method, a typical dish washing will use around 6 litres of water. Definitely a lot less than washing under a running tap.

Collect water from floor moping, laundry, face washing etc for flushing the toilet. Use the toilet flush occasionally to prevent mosquito breeding. Each flush is around 4 litres of water. Some older toilet uses 8 litres of water for each flush.

Just recycling the water from face washing each morning will save 120 litres each month. Imagine saving 1460 litres a year just by using this water for flushing the toilet!
